Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan the audit according to GAAS and risk-based audit approach, in addition to adhering to firm methodologies

• Plan, perform and document testing in high-risk and complex audit areas – e.g. design of tests of controls and audit procedures, perform testing in multiple interdependent audit areas, and active management of audit planning and implementation

• Guide and oversee work of staff auditors and other senior auditors

• Train staff and review staff audit testing and documentation

• Draft financial statements, reports and letters communicating required information to those charged with governance

• Work directly with clients on resolving financial reporting and compliance issues

• Provide client with information related to authoritative guidance and best practices

• Project manage one or more client assignments simultaneously, ensuring overall success of each project

• Share and transfer knowledge within the team

• Develop deeper knowledge and skills in technical field

• Build and nurture strong working relationships with client personnel

• Advise and coach team members, provide consistent recognition and encouragement to team members, and set an example by demonstrating high energy levels and enthusiasm

• Work as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks

• Identify opportunities to improve assignment profitability and any risk management issues

• Actively support new initiatives

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelors/Masters in Accounting

• 2 to 5 years’ audit experience, including experience as an in-charge auditor

• Ability to direct an audit engagement through all stages from planning to issuance of deliverables, and ability to ensure timely completion of all components of the engagement

• Strong technical knowledge and skills

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

• Strong project management skills

• Team management skills - the ability to coach, motivate and direct a team of people

• Team player with a positive ‘can do’ approach

• Problem solving ability

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
