Position: Full-time, Premium Processing Assistant
Location: Downtown Honolulu
Industry: Insurance
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Pay: $24.00 – 26.00 per hour (depends on experience)

The Premium Processing Assistant is responsible for handling daily premium-related transactions and supporting accurate policy billing and payment activity. This role manages customer payments, past-due accounts, cancellations, reinstatements, and return premiums while ensuring records are accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with financial data in a deadline-driven environment.
Job Duties:
- Process premium payments received by credit card, check, and other approved methods
- Prepare and reconcile daily deposits and coordinate delivery to the bank
- Issue invoices, past-due notices, and cancellation notices related to non-payment
- Process policy cancellations and reinstatements based on payment status
- Review, verify, and issue return premium refunds; monitor refund activity reports
- Maintain and analyze premium accounting reports for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare regular premium activity reports for management review
- Respond to inquiries from staff, agents, and customers regarding billing or payment discrepancies
- Collaborate with IT and internal teams to research variances and suggest process improvements
- Support additional administrative and accounting-related tasks as assigned

Job Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or premium processing
- Insurance industry experience preferred but not required
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education or accounting coursework preferred
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications
