Job Opening: Manufacturing Technician

Location: Havana, FL

Pay rate: $16/ph

Schedule: MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 1ST, 2ND, OR 3RD SHIFT. CLIENT WILL ASSIGN SHIFT DURING ORIENTATION.

• Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
• Willing and able to work a rotating twelve (12) hour shift (days and nights)
• Willing and able to work in a hot, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment

Duration: Temp to hire

• Summary:

  The Utility person performs multiple jobs throughout each department. Also serves as breakout employee for various production positions within the department. Principal Duties and Responsibility

  l . Performs different jobs within the department to include but not limited to. . . pulling veneer, running stackers, feeding veneer at dryers, pulling and grading veneer at dryers, running sheet drops, feeding core, laying core, etc

  2. Must be able to break out for breaks at different jobs
  3. Sweeps up saw dust and veneer scraps with a push broom
  4. Picks up scraps of veneer with shovel, rake, or by hand
  5. Paints various plant equipment and materials (barriers, framework, guards, etc.)
  6. Mops floors, scrubs sinks, toilets, water fountains, and other equipment with brushes and rags
  7. Washes windows using brushes and rags
  8. Performs duties of various production positions within the mill when required
  9. Follow Company policies, procedures and safety rules Requirements

  Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  1. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, rules, signs, and memos
  2. Ability to count and perform simple mathematical calculations
  3. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• At least six (6) months of experience in manufacturing, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, construction, warehouse, or military environment
• Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
• Clean background  / drug screen 

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one (1) year of experience working as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment
• Experience operating a forklift
• Experience working in lumber or wood products
• Experience troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing environment
