  • Prepares write offs,  credit adjustments and balance transfers as needed and performs small adjustments for department as needed.


  • Analyzes explanation of benefits documentation to identify accuracy of payment  status and appeal incorrect payments.


  • Interacts with other team members to ensure all are working towards the same goal.


  • Maintains correspondence and work aging regularly to ensure reimbursement and prevent timely filing      denials.


  • Reach daily goals set forth by supervisor.


  • Investigates contracts and issues outside of individual workload.


  • Submits payer issues to  supervisor timely and with appropriate supporting documentation.


  • Field inbound patient calls that cannot be resolved by team members.


  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

The Insurance Representative completes insurance follow-up   process accurately and timely for a designated group of accounts, by payer   classification or other method of assignment. The Insurance Representative   also answers inquiries by mail or phone as related to that designated group   of accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meets production requirements by working accounts        through the Brightree platform and working accounts according to Supervisor’s specifications.
  • Responds to all inquiries, billing denials, and other        correspondence and phone requests in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Attach necessary documentation when submitting        authorization requests.
  • Makes telephone inquiry, according to policy, on        benefits and prior authorization requests.
  • Resolves problem accounts independently using sound        judgement and following established policies and procedures in a timely manner while meeting established productivity goals.
  • Documents activity within Brightree platform system.
  • Maintains all reports, files, and records as needed        in position.
  • Works as patient account representative as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compliance Responsibilities

  • Ensure security and access to all protected health        information conforms to company procedures and HIPAA regulations.
  • Notify management of any nonconformance or potential        nonconformance in regards to the HIPAA Workforce Security Standard.
